Over the years I have seen missionaries come and go but not really had any that were close to me. Now I am fortunate to have TWO missionaries serving missions, and let me tell you it has been an emotional rollercoaster! My cousin Kyle just left the MTC this week and is serving in Oregon, and so far as I have read is having an amazing time! He was also very lucky to make it on Deseret News (so jealous!) My other cousin Connor (who I am closer with) is still in the MTC, and very soon will be serving in Mexico. As I watched Connor give his farewell talk and give his goodbyes, tears were streaming down all of our cheeks! That weekend I felt closer with him than usual, but as always his warm spirit made me smile. As long as I can remember Connor has been a great example to me. He is even the district leader in the MTC! Every week I look forward to reading all of his emails, and the wonderful experiences he is having so far. The even better part is he includes audio clips of him and his companions of anything and everything! I had the opportunity to write one of the missionaries in his district named Elder Tippetts! As I was writing him my aunt says, "I could be helping you find your future husband!" So with all excitement I wrote this letter with all the enthusiasm and girlyness I had in me. My eyes come to find out... lets just says Elder Tippetts is not the one for me, but I'm still glad I got the chance to write him since at the time had not been written yet. Today in Sunday School we watched a video, and in it a missionary was leaving to the airport, and I started to tear when it was just a video! Then I realized something about myself today that pertains to missionaries, I don't think I could ever watch one leave from to the airport or MTC! Watching them give their farewell talk is more than enough tears in itself, but watching them actually leave is.. I cant even explain how emotional that sounds! But another reason missionaries have been more of on my tender side is because, I am so happy Connor and Kyle made the decision to serve missions, but I also do miss them! At family gatherings it sometimes feel like a tiny part is missing. But I really do love my missionaries and the work their doing!
Also while in Utah(which is my favorite place ever; but that's another post), I realized something else.... We are all growing up so fast! It seems like yesterday we were all getting dirty head to toe at our cabin(who am I joking we still do that), and watching each other get baptized and soon as we know it were all going to get married. Its crazy how fast time flies, but it reminded me to cherish all the memories and moments my cousins and I share together.
